About Alpha Chi Omega

In Alpha Chi Omega, our members are driven by the values that unite us, which are academic excellence, character, financial responsibility, leadership ability, and personal development! Our chapter is dedicated to ensuring that our members feel accepted, appreciated, and supported throughout their membership and beyond their time in college, and we thank parents, friends, and family as well for the support they give their AXOs!

Our Story

Alpha Chi Omega was founded October 15, 1885 at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. Alpha Chi Omega enriches the lives of our members through lifetime opportunities for friendship, leadership, learning, and service.

At the University of Arizona, the Alpha Chi Omega chapter was brought to the campus in 1930 and active until 2008. In November 2013, the Beta Lambda chapter of Alpha Chi Omega was re-colonized and brought back onto campus!

AXO's philanthropy is Domestic Violence Awareness. As a chapter, we work to promote awareness of domestic violence and promote healthy relationships, whether it be with our friends, families, partners, or any other relationships that develop!

We donate our proceeds of our philanthropy events to Emerge! Center Against Domestic Abuse, which is a local facility in Tucson, and to the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation!

A couple of years ago, we won The Dean Robert S. Svob Award, which is "SVOB Chapter of the Year!" We are so honored to have been given this award, and we are so proud of our members for being the reason we won it for many reasons! In 1983, this award was created to honor Robert Svob who encouraged students to grow, develop, and share, and Svob committed himself to setting a standard of excellence for the Greek Community.

We also will be featured in Tucson Lifestyle Magazine this year for our outstanding role in philanthropy, which we are honored to be recognized for.

Meet the Team

President

Kaitlyn Wheelian

Hi my name is Kaitlyn Wheelihan and I serve as Beta Lambda’s Chapter President. My role is so special in that I get endless opportunities to give back to this organization. I oversee and support all 14 executive board officers, facilitate our weekly chapter meetings and serve as the main liaison between the University Fraternity and Sorority Programs and National Alpha Chi Omega Headquarters. I ensure accountability and responsibility in all members with the goal of creating a safe, inclusive home and environment for our members.

VP Membership Programming

Breanna Honn

Hi my name is Bre Honn and I serve at the VP membership programming, this means I host all sisterhood events, retreat, family and parents weekend as well as coordinate all events pertaining to Seniors.

VP Chapter Relations and Standards Board

Madisyn Hostler

Hi my name is Madisyn, the vice president chapter relations and standards is responsible for maintaining the standards and Member Code of Conduct of the National Fraternity, enforcing the bylaws of the collegiate chapter, and following a disciplinary process in dealing with individual chapter members by adhering to Alpha Chi Omega’s fraternity process which includes education of policies and bylaws, notice of inconsistent behavior to members, and taking action if necessary and the CRSB having the right to take this authority.

VP Finance

Paola Mendivil

Hi my name is Paola, Within the VP finance role I oversee the chapters budgets for the year. I bill members throughout the semester and also apply fines if needed. Additionally I provide support to the officers in utilizing their budgets.

VP Risk Management

Kayla Miles

Hi my name is Kayla Miles and I am the VP Risk Management. With my position I get to help assist the chapter with getting the right health resources and mental health resources. I ensure that there is safety when girls are at social events and out and about on campus. I am in contact with both Panhel and IFC when communicating matters. I also have the pleasure of educating our girls with alcohol training. On top of all of that and my personal favorite I get to oversee our date dashes, formals and homecoming. Which is always so much fun. I am always here for our girls and love them all so much!

VP Ritual and Fraternal Appreciation

Emma Vanthorre

Hi my name is Emma Van Thorre and I currently serve as the Vice President of Ritual and Fraternity Appreciation. In this position I plan and execute Initiation week as well as events celebrating Hera Day, McDowell Month and Founder’s Day.

Hi my name is Andie Bartick and I am the VP of New member education. I educate new members on everything about our chapter. I make sure everyone finds their people and forever home here at Alpha Chi omega.

Hi my name is Maria! As Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing I oversee all chapter apparel, chapter social media, collaborate with brands and companies, and work with other officers to promote events!

VP Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Alexa Barnum

Hi My name is Alexa Barnum and I serve as the Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion! In my position I work to ensure our chapter is a safe and welcoming place for all of our members. I spread awareness on different holidays and days of significance throughout the year and host events to celebrate some of the cultures and identities in our chapter.

Panhellenic Delegate

Kayla Frost

Hi I am Kayla Frost and I currently serve as the Panhellenic Delegate. In this position I work with the Panhellenic executive board and delegates from the other chapter to vote on various topics relating to the Greek community. I also plan events with the chapters that center around DEI and academics.

VP Intellectual Development

Heather Broyles

Hi my name is Heather Broyles, and I serve as our Vice President of Intellectual Development: oversees everything academics in the chapter. Assists people who fall below the 3.0 gpa standard, promotes academic resources and workshops, plans 4.0 dinners and looks for more ways to get sisters involved in school.

VP Facility Operations

Maren Minerich

Hi my name is Maren Minerich, and I serve as our VP Facility Operations is responsible for the live-in experience for Alpha Chi Omega. As VP Facility Operations, it is my job to send out housing contracts, communicate with National Housing Corporation about housing improvements, and work with the live-ins to make the experience fun and memorable. VP Facility Operations is the main line of communication between the members living in the Alpha Chi house and the House Director, chef, and National Housing Corporation (NHC).

VP Philanthropy

Ryann Hochuli

Hi my name is Ryann, As VP Philanthropy I help raise money and awareness for our National Philanthropy, Domestic Violence Awareness, by planning numerous events throughout the school year. We partner with Emerge Center Against Domestic Abuse and have raised over $40,000 in just the past year.

VP Recruitment Information

Sydney Fischer

Hi my name is Sydney Fischer, I serve as the vice president of recruitment information focuses on all of the behind the scenes aspects of recruitment. this includes processing recruitment-related excuses, administering fines, planning and executing the continuous open bidding process, while also leading the collegiate recruitment information board.
